The partners meeting of the EC LIFE+ co-funded project “Integrated planning tool to ensure viability of grasslands” (LIFE VIVA GRASS) will be held in Riga, on the 25 – 20th November of 2014. The main attention will be placed on the results achieved during the first project milestone and discussions about the project activities to be carried out in the upcoming periods.
The meeting will bring together project participants from three Baltic States representing private, public non-governmental and scientific sector organizations. The representatives will talk about the results from summer baseline indicator collection, assessment methodology, long term impact indicators, as well as ex ante report preparation. During the fallowing session the discussion will be dedicated to the projects methodological framework, socio-economic data collection, social survey, and further challenges and tasks.
The aim of the VIVA GRASS project is to demonstrate opportunities for municipal use of grasslands as basis for sustainability of rural areas and stimulus for local economies. The project activities will be held in nine case study areas at regional, municipality, farm and protected area level in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
